California Product Research - Beverages in Supermarkets
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We are working on a client project with an Australian manufacturer of carbonated beverages; we are helping them prepare for market entry to California. As part of the work, we will include an on-shelf competitor analysis for this market across a range of grocery outlets.
The research would require the applicant to go to a handful of supermarkets, take images and videos, and then create a product spreadsheet that includes the following information:
- Product Name
- Product price (normal/full price)
- Country of manufacture
- Pack size (g/kg/mL/L)
- Product claims (e.g. all-natural, organic, non-GMO, 5-star health rating, no preservatives, etc.)
- Type of packaging (box, bottles etc.) and whether it's PET, Glass, or otherwise
- Positioning in-store (e.g. promotional stand, top of shelf etc.)
- Promotion (if being discounted/bundles etc.)
- Photos of the store entrance, of the front of the products, and of the shelves
- Importer details as per label on packaging (if available)
The job will require you to visit the following grocery retailers:
- Whole Foods
- Trader Joe's
- Kroger
- 3 other supermarkets of your choosing (not independent)
You will be required to go to the shelves where the following product categories are stocked:
- Non-alcoholic tonic/sparkling water;
You will need to photograph the products and shelf space and complete a competitor analysis template in an excel spreadsheet (we provide the excel template to follow). We also ask that you record a short video (10 - 20 seconds), walking through the product aisle and recording the products on shelf (where possible).
We are prepared to pay up to USD $350 for the completion of the job. The project will be awarded to the most competitive quote that can demonstrate the capability to accurately perform this task.
Once accepted, we will send through the excel file to be filled out, templates, product details, and specific outlet locations.
The deadline for this project is Monday the 9th of August.
We look forward to working with a great applicant!
