Hi, I'm Melissa Kotter and I am involved in marketing and sales. I have created PDF training materials that I would like to sell from my website with inbuilt protection that acts as a deterrent from people stealing the content. Here is some advice I have been given that describes what I need.
Adobe offers an API whereby you could generate a custom PDF for each download. This custom PDF might have a slight visible difference that identified the purchaser (e.g. a watermark, header or footer), and could have a custom password. You could automate all of this. Adobe charges $0.05 per “document transaction” and I think this would be two transactions so $0.10 per custom PDF. You’d need to have someone code this solution for you to automate it into your site purchase experience. I suspect a freelancer would be able to help
